FAQs

We are unable to pause memberships, only cancel.
We’d love to welcome you back when you’re ready, but please note that we cannot hold spaces or guarantee enrollment in your previous class time. Enrollment for the general public opens on the 7th of each month, and we begin approving enrollment requests on the 16th. Our registration closes 7 days before the end of the month, or earlier if we reach member capacity.
New memberships will then start on the 1st day of the following month.

If you have questions or need assistance, please email us at learn@theswimspace.com. This is the best way to reach us as our facility is only staffed while classes are being held, and during those times our staff are busy helping swimmers and their families. We will respond to your email as soon as possible.
-
Our classes are in high demand, and while we always do our best to accommodate families — including sibling schedules — we can’t guarantee placement in same-time or back-to-back classes. We’ll always prioritize helping active members find the best possible options as space becomes available.
-
We are not able to guarantee the same instructor each week. The reality is that many swimming instructors are university or high school students, and are balancing their teaching responsibilities along with academic and athletic commitments.
However, we are actively working to ensure a consistent experience through other means. We’ve been investing heavily in team training with the goal of ensuring the same high standard of delivery, regardless of who leads the class on any given week.
-
We conduct Evaluation Weeks every 2 months, to help track your swimmer's progress and ensure they're in the correct class for their skill level.
During Evaluation Week we will evaluate all for swimmers who have been with us for at least 4 weeks.
New swimmers not yet at the 4-week mark will be evaluated in a future Evaluation Week.
Evaluation records can be viewed on your Parent Portal.
If a swimmer is absent during Evaluation Week, we'll do our best to complete their evaluation the following week, although this is not guaranteed.
Our remaining Evaluations Weeks for 2025 are as follows:
August 9-15
October 9-15
December 9-14

Being a member means that your swimmer's class time will remain the same every month, while they remain in the same level.
When your swimmer moves to the next level, or, if for scheduling reasons you'd like to transfer to different class time going forward, as a member you will also have priority access to open classes.

Each swimmer has the option to request ONE make-up token per month for a scheduled class that they will not be attending, provided we are informed of the absence before the class starts.
Please note the following:
Absence notifications must be made through the App, Parent Portal, or by emailing learn@theswimspace.com . We do not accept in-person or phone notifications.
Make-up tokens will be issued after the class has finished, not before.
Make-up classes cannot be booked before an expected absence.
Make-up tokens are valid for 45 days from the date they are issued, provided the swimmer’s membership is active and in good standing.
Make-up classes must be completed before a membership ends, and any unused make-up tokens will be forfeited. Make-up tokens are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
Make-up classes can be requested via the App/Parent Portal up to 7 days in advance, with same-day bookings permitted. Confirmation of make-up class enrollment will be sent via email.
Make-up classes cannot be rescheduled, and tokens cannot be reissued.
If the option to request a make-up token is not used one month, it does not accumulate or roll over to the next month.

Our monthly membership fee is based on 4 classes per month.
If your class day happens to occur 5 times in a month, and we are open all of those days, you will receive a bonus class at no extra cost. However, if we are closed on one of those 5 days, a make-up token will not be issued, as the month still includes the usual 4 classes. -
We do not offer private 1:1 lessons.

Our instructors are trained to pick up on student competencies and confidence very quickly. They understand the skills and ability that each student needs to have to participate successfully in their level.
Our team understands that every child learns in their own ways and at their own pace, which is why our instructors are flexible and adjust their lessons as needed based on their observations. We are constantly evaluating our students and providing meaningful feedback for the parents.

If The Swim Space schedules a closure of fewer than 5 consecutive days, swimmers will receive a make-up token for each missed class if the closure reduces a swimmer’s scheduled classes to fewer than 4 classes. The token(s) will be added after the missed class(es).
Receiving a make-up token for a closure does not prevent you from requesting a token for a class that you will be not attending that month. (OR??: Make-up tokens issued for closures are in addition to the one token that you may request that month for a class that you will not be attending).
-
