Big Swimmer

Ages 7 - 9

Big Swimmer is built for school-aged kids who are ready to level up their swimming skills and confidence. In this program, we focus on refining technique, building endurance, and developing strong, coordinated strokes—including breathing skills that set them up for more advanced swimming. With small group sizes and energetic instructors, swimmers get the support they need to make real progress—while still having a ton of fun in the process.

The Big Swimmer program features four progressive levels that challenge and motivate kids at every stage of their aquatic journey. And don’t worry—there’s still a spot for you! Parents and guardians are welcome to cheer from the viewing area as their swimmer grows stronger with each splash and stroke.

Our Levels

  • Class Length: 30 Minutes

    Big Swimmer Level 1

Small group swim lessons for ages 7–9 | Max 4 swimmers per instructor

Our Level 1 class is the perfect starting point for swimmers aged 7–9 who are new to lessons or have limited experience in the water. If you're unsure where your swimmer fits, Level 1 is a great place to begin—and we're happy to help make adjustments after an initial assessment.

    Safety First
Our small group format allows instructors to give each swimmer the attention they need to thrive. If a swimmer requires one-on-one support beyond what’s possible in this setting, we may not be able to accommodate them in a group class at this time.

    Big Swimmer Level 2

Small group swim lessons for ages 7–9 | Max 4 swimmers per instructor

Level 2 is designed for swimmers aged 7–9 who are already comfortable in the water and can move confidently with some level of independence. This level builds on fundamental skills like kicking, floating, gliding, and introducing coordinated arm movements. Swimmers should be able to submerge fully  and return to a standing position with ease.

If your swimmer is transferring from another program, we’ll typically start them in Level 2 and assess their skills during class. From there, we’ll help determine whether Level 2 is the best fit or if they’re ready to move to a higher level. Entry into Level 3 is reserved for swimmers who have passed our Level 2 or been formally assessed by our team.

    Big Swimmer Level 3

Small group swim lessons for ages 7–9 | Max 4 swimmers per instructor

Level 3 is for swimmers aged 7–9 who have successfully completed Level 2 at The Swim Space. This class builds on the fundamentals by introducing more advanced technique and endurance. Swimmers will work on refined front crawl with rhythmic breathing, improved backstroke, and basic whip kick movements in preparation for breaststroke.

Swimmers transferring from other programs will need to start in Level 2 so we can assess their skills and ensure a smooth transition into our progression system. Only swimmers who have passed our Level 2 or been formally assessed by our team may join Level 3.
