Little Swimmer
Ages 4 years - 6 years
The Little Swimmer Program helps young swimmers build confidence, independence, and skill in the water. Whether a swimmer is continuing from our Tiny Swimmer program or joining us with or without previous swimming experience, this program provides a clear, supportive path forward.
This five-level program is taught in small groups with a 3:1 swimmer-to-instructor ratio in half lanes. Swimmers are in the water for the entire class and, when not actively practicing a skill, will stand safely on one of our swim docks while awaiting their turn.
Dock safety is a key focus throughout both our Tiny and Little Swimmer programs and is reinforced consistently to help swimmers learn safe movement, waiting, and listening skills around the pool.
Each level builds progressively on the last, with an emphasis on comfort, safety, and positive reinforcement. Our focus isn’t speed or perfection, it’s helping swimmers move confidently and comfortably in the water while continuing their journey toward learning to love the water.

Class Length: 30 Minutes
Little Swimmer Level 1
Small group swim lessons for ages 4 years – 6 years | Max 3 swimmers per instructor
Little Swimmer Level 1 supports swimmers as they begin independent lessons with an instructor. The focus is on building comfort, trust, and confidence in the water within a structured class setting.
Swimmers practice safe pool entry and exit, relaxed breathing, front and back floats, and early gliding and kicking movements. Instructors provide consistent guidance and encouragement, helping swimmers feel secure while learning how their bodies move in the water.
This level establishes the foundation for safe participation, independence, and positive learning in the pool.
Enrollment & Registration
All programs at The Swim Space run on a monthly membership model based on four lessons per month.
Registration for new swimmers opens on the 20th of each month for the upcoming month.During the first 19 days of each month, current swimmers are given priority to transfer classes due to schedule changes or level progression. Because of this, requested class times cannot be guaranteed, even if they appear available. No payment is processed unless a space is confirmed.
Progress Check-Ins
Every 7–9 weeks, swimmers receive a progress check-in with one of our coaches or supervisors alongside their instructor. These check-ins look at overall skill development, confidence, and readiness to move to the next level—or what to focus on next.To ensure progress check-ins are meaningful and fair, swimmers must have attended at least 6 of the previous 9 classes and must not have missed their two most recent classes. This helps our team make accurate, consistent recommendations based on current participation and performance.
Progress check-ins are designed to support steady growth, clear communication, and a positive experience as swimmers continue their journey toward learning to love the water.
Safety First
Our small-group format allows instructors to provide focused attention and maintain a safe learning environment. If a swimmer requires one-on-one support beyond what’s possible in a group class, we may not be able to accommodate them at this time.If you have questions about safety or class fit, our team is happy to help at learn@theswimspace.com.
