Tiny Swimmer
5 months - 48 months (4 years)
Every confident swimmer starts somewhere.
At The Swim Space, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to Love the Water.
Our Tiny Swimmer Program helps infants and toddlers build confidence, independence, foundational water safety skills, and early swimming ability through a thoughtful five level progression.
Unlike many programs that move children directly from parent or guardian participation into independent lessons, our program includes a dedicated transition level that helps young swimmers build confidence alongside both their parent or guardian and instructor before swimming independently.
Our five progressive levels are designed for swimmers aged 5 months to 48 months (4 years). Age ranges overlap intentionally, allowing children to progress based on confidence, readiness, and skill development rather than age alone.
Every child develops differently, and every swimmer progresses at their own pace. Our goal is simple: help every child build confidence, develop lifelong swimming skills, and most importantly, Love the Water.
Enrollment & Registration
All Tiny Swimmer programs at The Swim Space operate on a monthly membership model and include four swim lessons each month.
Registration for new swimmers opens on the 20th of each month for the upcoming month.
During the first 19 days of each month, current members receive priority to transfer classes due to schedule changes or level progression.
For this reason, new members requesting a specific class day or time may not receive their first choice, even if it appears available online. No payment is processed unless a class space has been confirmed.
Progress Check-Ins
Progress check-ins begin in Tiny Swimmer Level 3, when swimmers begin preparing for independent swimming.
Our Coaches and Supervisors work alongside instructors to review each swimmer's confidence, skill development, and readiness to progress to the next level.
Tiny Swimmer Level 3 swimmers typically receive a progress check-in every 6 to 12 weeks.
Tiny Swimmer Levels 4 and 5 typically receive a progress check-in every 7 to 9 weeks.
Every child progresses at their own pace. Our goal is to ensure swimmers move to the next level when they are confident, comfortable, and ready to succeed.
Safety First
Our small group format allows instructors to provide focused attention while maintaining a safe learning environment.
If a swimmer requires one-on-one support beyond what can reasonably be provided in a group lesson, we may not be able to accommodate them at this time.

Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tiny Swimmer 1
Group swim lessons for Ages 5 to 18 months | Parent or Guardian Participation| Max 12 per class
Every swimmer has to have one parent or guardian accompany them in the water.Tiny Swimmer Level 1 introduces infants to the water alongside a parent or guardian in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment.
Through songs, movement, games, and gentle water activities, swimmers begin developing comfort and familiarity with the water while their parent or guardian learns safe ways to support them during aquatic activities.
The focus at this stage is building trust, creating positive experiences, and helping every swimmer feel calm, secure, and happy in the water.
Every lesson is designed to lay the foundation for confidence in and around the water while creating positive memories that last a lifetime.

Tiny Swimmer 2
Group swim lessons for Ages 16 to 36 months | Parent or Guardian Participation| Max 12 per class
Every swimmer has to have one parent or guardian accompany them in the water.Tiny Swimmer Level 2 is designed for toddlers who are ready for greater interaction with their instructor while continuing to benefit from the support of a parent or guardian in the water.
Lessons introduce more instructor led activities while encouraging swimmers to listen, follow simple directions, and participate more independently during class.
Basic water safety skills and early independence are introduced in a supportive environment that prepares swimmers for the next stage of their swimming journey.
This level bridges the gap between early water exploration and more structured swimming lessons.

Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tiny Swimmer 3
Group swim lessons for Ages 30 to 48 months | 3 :1 Swimmer to Instructor / Parent or Guardian Participation
Tiny Swimmer Level 3 is our unique transition level that helps young swimmers build the confidence they need to become independent in the water.
We know that moving directly from a parent or guardian participation class into a fully independent swimming lesson can be a big step for many young children. Rather than rushing that transition, we've created a level specifically designed to help swimmers build confidence before entering independent classes.
Each swimmer attends with one parent or guardian, who participates in the water or remains on deck in swimwear, ready to assist if needed. As confidence grows, instructors gradually take a more active role while encouraging swimmers to become increasingly comfortable working independently.
Throughout this level, swimmers develop foundational swimming skills including floating, kicking, gliding, submerging, listening, and water safety while building trust in both themselves and their instructor.
Every swimmer progresses at their own pace, but most children are ready to move into Tiny Swimmer Level 4 within approximately 6 to 12 weeks.
Our goal isn't simply to teach swimming.
Our goal is to help children become confident enough to Love the Water.

Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tiny Swimmer 4
Group swim lessons for Ages 30 to 48 months | 3 : 1 Swimmer to Instructor | No Parent or Guardian Participation
Tiny Swimmer Level 4 is the first fully independent class in the Tiny Swimmer Program.
Having built confidence alongside both their parent or guardian and instructor in Level 3, swimmers are now ready to participate independently in a small group setting with a low 3:1 swimmer to instructor ratio.
Swimmers continue developing assisted front and back floats, glides, kicking, body position, and other fundamental swimming skills while becoming increasingly confident working directly with their instructor.
Lessons are taught in a half lane, providing a calm and supportive learning environment where children continue building confidence through success.

Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tiny Swimmer 5
Group swim lessons for Ages 30 to 48 months | 3 : 1 Swimmer to Instructor | No Parent Participation
Tiny Swimmer Level 5 builds on the confidence and independence developed throughout the program.
Swimmers work toward increasingly independent front and back floats, glides, kicking, and early front swimming while continuing to improve body control, confidence, and comfort moving independently through the water.
Skills are introduced progressively and reinforced through repetition, encouragement, and positive experiences.
By the end of this level, swimmers have developed the confidence, independence, and foundational swimming skills needed for a smooth transition into our Little Swimmer Program.
Every level in our Tiny Swimmer Program is designed to help children build confidence, develop foundational swimming skills, and most importantly, Love the Water.
